WRECK CITY: An Epilogue for 809 was a community-based art experiment transforming 9 houses scheduled for demolition into temporary art, installation, and performance spaces. Instigated as a eulogy for Calgary’s prominent garage-based art space 809 Gallery, eight Artist-Curators invited 100+ Artists, Musicians, and Performers to participate. Participants were free to radically alter the architecture of entire houses, re-shaping and re-using materials from the homes themselves without the need for repair at the end of the project.
Artist-Curators behind WRECK CITY include: Matthew Mark Bourree, Caitlind r.c. Brown, Jennifer Crighton, Brandon Dalmer, Andrew Frosst, John Frosst, Shawn Mankowske, and Ryan Scott.
For WRECK CITY Chad Peters, Jason Dyck, and myself created a piece entitled SUB-DIVISION.
